Narendra Modi visits Kashmir: Today, the prime minister was speaking at a public gathering in Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium.
During a public rally on Thursday at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the opposition, particularly the Congress, alleging that certain families were misleading not only the people of Jammu and Kashmir but the country as a whole on the now-abrogated Article 370.
On August 5, 2019, the Center, led by Prime Minister Modi, revoked the terms of Article 370 and divided the former state into the Union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
In the guise of Article 370, the Congress and its allies deceived the people of Jammu and Kashmir for many years in order to forward their political agenda. Now that they know the facts, the people of Jammu and Kashmir can decide whether Article 370 was beneficial to the entire region or just a select few families. Since there is no longer an Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir’s potential is being respected appropriately, according to Modi.
In addition to addressing a public gathering, Modi traveled to Srinagar to reveal a number of development projects totaling over ₹6,400 crore. Modi is making his first trip to the Kashmir valley after Article 370 was repealed in August 2019.
At the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir” event held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Modi made a number of announcements about initiatives pertaining to tourism and agriculture.
During ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu Kashmir’, Modi unveiled several development projects valued at over ₹6,400 crore in the stadium.
The sensation of arriving at this earthly paradise is indescribable. There was a time when Jammu and Kashmir could not adopt laws that were applied in other regions of the nation. There was a time when national programs for the poor’s welfare were put into place, but the advantages were not extended to our brothers and sisters in Jammu and Kashmir. And look at how the times have changed now,” Modi remarked to the audience.
He also met with recipients of different central schemes, including as women achievers, farmers, and business owners, and gave appointment letters to about one thousand recently hired government employees in Jammu and Kashmir.

As hundreds of BJP members arrived at the location sporting multicolored turbans, security guards struggled to control the throng. Although there were rigorous security measures in place, officials maintained there were no limitations on people’s freedom of movement.
Everywhere in the Kashmir valley, everything were going about as usual, and most stores and other commercial spaces were open.
The road leading from Bakshi Stadium to Badamibagh Cantonment has been fortified by the security forces. Along Modi’s planned path, there have been posters welcoming him, BJP flags, and tricolors displayed. They claimed that strict security measures had been taken to guarantee a visit free of incidents.
Large numbers of security guards have been stationed along Modi’s planned routes through Srinagar, and barriers have been erected in a number of locations, they claimed.
The prime minister also unveiled 43 initiatives aimed at expanding the nation’s tourism and pilgrimage destinations. He also introduced ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024,’ the nation’s first-ever nationwide campaign to determine the tourist pulse of the country
